Avalon brings almost 10 years of program management and 7 years of learning facilitation and cross-entity collaboration experience into her work as a consultant and facilitator.
Originally beginning her career in community health education at non-profits and local municipalities, she currently holds a Program Director position at Duke University's Department of Population Health Sciences. This position has given her years of experience working directly with leadership to develop and implement complex, overlapping initiatives and programs in areas such as: operations, onboarding and offboarding, research, professional development, and diversity, equity & inclusion. Additionally, she holds an appointed position as Staff Resource Person, an unofficial ombuds role, in the department.
She is also enrolled in Transformation Edge Coaching & Consulting's highly esteemed Business & Professional Coach Training Certificate Program with plans to become ICF certified in Fall 2022.
Her proven skills in effective communication, fastidious organization, attention to detail while aligning with the larger vision, diplomacy, and emotional intelligence make her exceptional to work with as evidenced by a long and consistent history of positive feedback from supervisors, collogues, participants, and external partners.
Outside of work, Avalon likes to spend time cultivating her own inner space through exercise, mediation, and cooking, as well as playing the violin, spending time with her two cats, and traveling.
